Non Resident Indians (NRI) are those who have studied and passed the qualifying examinations (11th and 12th) from schools or colleges which is situated  in foreign countries (Other than India /even if affiliated to the Boards of Secondary Education or Universities placed in India), whereas dependants of NRI studying in India will not be integrated as NRI students.  

A NRI Sponsored student is a occupant Indian student whose direct blood relative (Parents, direct brother or sister of parents or the candidate, Grandparents) committing to sponsor, has an NRI status.
The student holding passport issued by abroad countries including people of Indian source who have obtain the nationality of foreign countries are included as foreign students.

The NRI Quota MBBS admission procedure, application form (online as well as hard copy), fees etc are all different from those for the domestic students.


Eligibility -MBBS Admission through NRI Quota


The Candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the particular year of NRI admission to the MBBS course and the age shall be calculated on the basis of date of birth as point out in the Central Board of Secondary School Certificate examination (CBSE) or equivalent examination. Generally no demand for relaxation of age of a candidate is considered for students under NRI quota.

The Student shall pass the qualifying examination as follows:


The higher secondary examination (HSC) or the Indian School Certificate which in equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last 2 years of study with 50% in Physics, Biology, Chemistry and mathematics or any other optional subjects with English at a level not less than core course of English as agreed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It also has to be renowned that when the path content is not as prescribed for 10+2 education arrangement of the National Committee of the Association of Indian Universities, the candidates will have to undergo a phase of 1 year pre-professional training before NRI Quota MBBS admission to the Medical colleges.

Documents Required for MBBS Admission through NRI Quota


  1. Proof of NRI grade of parent (Scanned copy of passport).
  2. Passport copy of the student (Personal details page).
  3. For NRI sponsored candidates, the scanned copy of passport of the sponsor. The layout of sponsorship letter will be given by us at the time of preparing for the NRI MBBS admission.
  4. Proof of home residence of NRI/sponsor.
  5. Bank guarantee or bank statement of the sponsor taking accountability for the total spending incurred for the total duration of the course.
  6. Certified copy (English translated) of mark sheet/ grade sheet of qualifying examination or the expected marks/grades of the qualifying examination.
  7. Transfer certificate (TC) and Migration certificate
  8. Students qualifying from foreign schools/universities/institutions, the correspondence Certificate is to be received by the candidate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
